Romantic Hidden Pond Wedding, Kennebunkport

I had been anticipating Shannon and Kyle’s celebration for a long while, and it was well worth the wait.

This romantic Maine wedding was tucked in the woods of Kennebunkport at a personal favorite, Hidden Pond. If you have been to this rustic-chic resort, you know what a little oasis Hidden Pond is — from secluded bungalows and cottages enclosed by pine and birch, to a luxury farm-to-table restaurant.

It was here nestled in the trees that Shannon and Kyle celebrated with around 60 of their nearest and dearest, following the micro-wedding trend that many couples have opted for over the past few years. Given their smaller guest list and no wedding party, Shannon and Kyle’s wedding was both intimate and intentional, with a design executed flawlessly by the queen, Nicole Mower. Dreamy details married modern elegance with organic textures, inspired by nature and reflecting the rustic yet refined setting.

They also wove their daughters into the day with a special first dance (followed by the traditional bride and groom dance later in the evening).

But I was blown away the most by Shannon + Kyle's connection. There are some couples who just melt into each other so openly and honestly in front of the camera, and these two are one of them. We were gifted with an extended cocktail hour (reason #112 why I love working with planners) to scoot down the road to Goose Rocks Beach (many guests had no idea the couple had snuck off for ocean portraits!). The sunset light worked its magic, lending us a gorgeous glow that complimented this soft, romantic, and downright swoon-worthy photo session. It was a beautiful thing to watch Shannon and Kyle lean into the emotions that came and went in waves as they laughed, cried, twirled, and held each other so lovingly — fully present in the moment.
